Colonies: massive; or thick unifacial or bifacial plates; with irregularly shaped upgrowths near the center. Corallites: immersed. Coenosteum papillae: of mixed sizes or two distinct sizes, larger being the diameter of the corallites. Yellowish or brown (Ref. 846).
Found on shallow reef environment (Ref. 846), especially in mid-reef slopes (Ref. 98471).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
