Found on hard bottoms from shore to a depth of 23 m. Uses the gastropod shells of Coralliophilan violacea, Nerite sp., Planaxis akuana and Strombus maculatus (Ref. 88738). Also found in inshore flats (Ref. 2898).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
