Occurs from lower intertidal to upper subtidal on sand flats. Attached to dead bivalve shells and in commensal relationship with hermit crabs of the genera Diogenes and Clibanarius in shallow waters and Dardanus in deep waters (Ref. 107841). Members of the family Calyptraeidae are filter feeders (Ref. 107881).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
