Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs from lower intertidal to upper subtidal on sand flats. Attached to dead bivalve shells and in commensal relationship with hermit crabs of the genera Diogenes and Clibanarius in shallow waters and Dardanus in deep waters (Ref. 107841). Members of the family Calyptraeidae are filter feeders (Ref. 107881).
