Colonies composed of a stolonal hydrorhiza giving rise to erect, monosiphonic and sparingly branched stems up to 4.5 cm high. Branches irregularly branched in several planes, occasionally with anastomoses. Hydrothecae alternately arranged in approximately one plane. Hydrotheca large, almost cylindrical; markedly bent abcaudally, usually with a clear
inflexion point where adcauline hydrothecal wall becomes free. Adcauline hydrothecal wall adnate for approximately one-third of its length; free part of adcauline wall convex. Abcauline wall concave. Cusps of hydrothecal aperture sharp and separated by deep embayments.
Gonothecae oval, inserting at hydrothecal base. Gonothecal aperture situated at the end of a short and wide distal neck, slightly widening distally. Gonothecal wall slightly undulated and with fine striae.
Known from 20 to 640 m on muddy, stony and bottoms of hydroids, sponges and algae (Ref. 7416).
