It is found on hard substrate covered with sand, silt, or mud from the low intertidal to a depth of 28 meters (Ref. 865).

This is a hermaphroditic species. The embryos are brooded, individuals release sperm packets into the surrounding waters, where adjacent animals can be fertilized internally. Larvae is pelagic.
