Shell semi-translucent, solid, regular and large. Outline rounded-ovate. Apex ca. anterior 1/3 of SL. External sculpture faint, with subequal low radial riblets. Colouration: Outside of shell greenish to yellowish brown; aperture with continuous brown margin; inside color bluish silver (Ref. 128042).
Used as food by coastal populations throughout its range (Ref. 349). Found on rocky intertidal shores (Ref. 128042), on volcanic rocks (Ref. 349) such as granite (Ref. 799). Occurs at the low tide mark (Ref. 349).

Members of the order Archaeogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
