Also collected by fish corrals. Inhabits estuarine waters up to 20 km inland in completely freshwater (Ref. 343). Freshwater to shallow subtidal. Occur in shore swamps of much freshwater influences (Ref. 125642).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
