Central areas: Margins have six to eleven very short, wavy ribs. Lateral areas: Three or four strong ribs of rounded pustules. Girdle: Alternating pale stripes of grayish green and grayish white; Scaley (Ref. 281).
Minimum depth from Ref. 110502. Epibiotic (Ref. 110502). Rocky coasts and reefs, intertidal (Ref. 292). Found under stones and corals at 0 to 35 m depth (Ref. 2022).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
