Girdle: Medium wide which is nearly nude and fleshy with sparse hairs having glassy spines. Hairs: More numerous near the outer margin of the girdle. Mucro: Posterior. Central areas: Very obsolete cross ribbing which allows only a pitting to be noticed. Lateral areas: Slightly raised and faintly defined with nodulose ribbing. Inside: Comprised of obsolete diagonal granulated ribbing. Color of the valves: Green, white, red, yellow and mottled with any or all of these colors (Ref. 296).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
