Short description Morfologi

Adult: Trunk with 3 slender median tubercles taller than ocular tubercle; lateral processes with slender dorsodistal tubercles slightly shorter than median tubercles. Neck fairly long; ocular tubercle pointed, implanted near anterior end of cephalic segment over palp insertion and anterior to oviger insertion. Proboscis slender, with proximal and distal constrictions. Abdomen long, slender. Chelifore scape 2-segmented, small; chelae vestigial. Palps, ovigers longer than trunk. Legs long, slender; tibiae with long dorsal and ventral setae; tarsus and claw subequal, less than half propodal length (Ref. 2115, p. 24).

Members of the class Pycnogonida are gonochoric and sexually dimorphic. During copulation, male usually suspends itself beneath the female. Fertilization occurs as the eggs leave the female's ovigers. Males brood the egg masses until they hatch. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into protonymphon larva then to adults.
