Minimum depth from Ref. 128534. Found in sublittoral areas (Ref. 87903), on stones and octocorals (Ref. 128534). Attached via basal threads under overhangs, rock slabs and boulders in the lower eulittoral and subtidal zone (Ref. 102838).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
