Found in intertidal areas in coarse sand and coral fragments (Ref. 75831). Also inhabits silty and gravely sands in the upper intertidal, where it is usually buried at 20 to 30 cm in depth (Ref. 65033).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
