Korte beschrijving Morfologie

Colony: massive, usually small. Corallites: crowded, often circular and monocentric but rarely elongate and polycentric. Septa: thickened over the corallite wall, exsert, with large teeth near the wall. Paliform lobes may form a crown around the small columellae. Often pale brown (Ref. 848).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
