Description synthétique
Morphologie
Formation: cerioid, with corallites up to 50 mm in diameter. Septa: coarsely toothed. Polyps with a fleshy mantle up to 100 mm diameter. Color: green, gray, or brown (Ref. 848).
Known only from moderately deep, turbid water (Ref. 848).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
