Bell measures 40 mm high; small deep-brick red manubrium with 4 recurved lips and 4 tightly folded gonads, with orangish pigment near the tips of the large tapering tentacles; 12 or more large tentacles and a few small ones; 4 radial canals and 12 or more centripetal canals; bell transparent

Members of the order Anthoathecata are mostly colonial A-form hydroids. Life cycle: The zygote develops into planula inside the gonophore and is later released as an actinula which metamorphoses into polyp stage.
