Information on environment based on species of the same genus (Ref. 96607). Found in infralittoral zone, usually in muddy dendritic substratum (based on species of the same genus, Ref. 96607). Feeds on zooplankton, mainly cyprids of Balanus sp. (based on species of the same genus, Ref. 96608) (Ref. 96607).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
