Solitary (Ref. 2377). Carnivore; trophic level 3 (Ref. 96418). A littoral species (Ref. 96494); inhabits sand-scoured or circalittoral rock (Ref. 96497). Found attached to rocks and boulders in situations where strong water movement prevails (Ref. 96495).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
