Inhabits high intertidal regions, on mangrove prop roots (Ref. 104828). Found in sandy shores (Ref. 125338). Also found in river mouths, in flat areas near high tide levels of creeks, and in the slopes of stream banks (Ref. 113679).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
