Mainly lives on reef flats and tidepools. Prefers small depressions on limestone reef flats and holes or areas underneath the rubble of tidepools. Feeds by browsing on algae attached to hard substrates (Ref. 122680).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
