Carapace length: 3 to 13 cm, carapace length; common carapace length: 6 to 10 cm (Ref. 4). Minimum depth from Ref. 106916. Found in deep shelf waters from depth of 50 to 200 m (Ref. 106916). Inhabits rocky areas and shelters in the crevices of the rocks (Ref. 4). In general, palinurids are mainly considered carnivores, usually feeding upon sluggish, easily captured animals where most material is eaten alive or freshly killed (Ref. 105260).
