Found on sandy or muddy sand bottoms among coral rubble. Usually encrusted with sponges on its shell surface (Ref. 101147). Dead shells found at depths of 134 to 557 m (Ref. 101153).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
