Occurs on muddy areas on the deepest part of continental shelf and on the upper slope (Ref. 106311). Abundant in the upper continental slope between depths of 150 to 400 m (Ref. 122113). Also found on open-sea detritic organogenic sediments (Ref. 106314), on a seamount (Ref. 106167) and coral bank (Ref. 95763). Epibenthos feeder (Ref. 106512). Opportunistically feeds on epifaunal mobile crustaceans and small fish. A small part of its diet contains echinoderms, polychaetes and bivalves (Ref. 106311).
