Juveniles found in subtidal edge of mud flats, near inshore and far inshore waters (Ref. 121464). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833). Spawns from January to March and July to November, with peaks in March and August (Ref. 116211).
