Actively collected for its edible flesh and nacreous shell (Ref. 349). Attached to corals or under rock ledges. Also found in shallow subtidal zones (Ref. 349). Feeds on epilithic algae by grazing (Ref. 85382). Found in intertidal, on rocks and coral (Ref. 75835).
