:
The pleura of the second abdominal segment overlap those of first and third segments, and the third pair of pereiopods lack pincers. Body depressed. Rostrum, if present, generally short. First pair of pereiopods very strong, with incomplete pincers lacking the fixed finger (subchela). Tiny to medium-sized shrimps, mostly from shallow waters, but some species occurring in depths well beyond 500 m (Ref. 104052).
