| Comments: | Gonad development began May-June in spring, as sea temperatures rose. Spawning occurred in August-September. The increase in GSI suggests a second phase of maturation, leading to a second peak in spawning from February-March. Gonad recession coincided with minimum winter temperatures. | ||||||||||||
