Diagnosis A semaeostome scyphomedusae with a hemispherical to round bell, up to 9.4 cm in diameter. Exumbrellar surface of the bell is heavily laden with small bumps which are composed of dense aggregations of nematocysts. 3 or 4 gonads and 3 or 4 oral arms with larger nematocyst laden bumps. All surfaces are a translucent blue-white color. Tentacles are completely lacking. Canal are simple, not netlike. Marginal ring projections often bifurcated on each side of a rhopalia.
