Comments Found in large numbers in D'Entrecasteaux Channel in South Tasmania in 1963 but anecdotal information suggests it was introduced as early as 1930. Most likely mechanism is as associated fauna attached to live oysters shipped from New Zealand. Causes local extinction of native Australian screw shell and has the ability to blanket the ocean floor. Ref. Department of Fisheries, Western Australia, 2000
