false pass
(English) Dead end passage; a natural passage incompletely transecting a barrier reef or perimeter reef; usually < 10 m deep and blocked by reef growth or sediment deposition. (See also: barrier reef coast)

(French) Le passage de l'extrémité mort; un passage naturel qui incomplètement coupe un récif barrière ou récif du périmètre; habituellement < 10 m profond et bloqué par l'augmentation du récif ou la déposition du sédiment. (See also: barrier reef coast)
