cavity brooder
(English) A fish that lays its eggs in a cavity, cave or other concealment; the eggs are aggressivley guarded by the parents, e.g. in the Cichlidae Apistogramma, Julidochromis, Neolamprologus and Pelvicachromis. (See also: parental care, parental family)
