cast net
(English) Circular net, thrown in such a way as to fall flat upon the water and, dropping rapidly to the bottom, encloses any fish that might happen to be beneath it.
(French) Filet lancé du rivage ou d'une embarcation, capturant les poissons en retombant et en se refermant sur eux. Son emploi est généralement limité aux eaux peu profondes.
