The waters in Dominican Republic is being used year round, possibly indicating a resident population. They come within 20 m of shore in waters less than 5 m deep during rough weather. Aerial displays were minimal. Wounds and lacerations have been observed suggesting propeller injuries that may have been induced by boat traffic in the area. Threats are mainly tourism, coastal development and probably pollution due to untreated sewage discharged into waters inhabited by dolphins (Ref. 86757). C: Ref. 86757; M: Ref. 1394. |
