Comments | My research is directed at coral reef biology, coastal management, and reef restoration. Southeast Asia has 35% of the world’s reefs but 80% is under threat. Extensive reef degradation makes it difficult to ignore restoration. There is a need to facilitate reef recovery and a good understanding of coral reef biology and coastal management increases restoration efficiency. The particular challenge for Singapore is that restoration must address the high sediment load and requires development of appropriate techniques. | |
