Colonies dioecious, shrubby, at time arborescent, up to 3 cm in Height; main stem monosiphonic. Hydro cauli arising from creeping hydrorhiza; branches delicate, irregular, up to 1st order in various planes; pedicels arising from main stem.

Members of the order Anthoathecata are mostly colonial A-form hydroids. Life cycle: The zygote develops into planula inside the gonophore and is later released as an actinula which metamorphoses into polyp stage.
