Total Length: 38 to 41 cm; Wingspan: 97 cm (Ref. 8812). Feeding rate of 1.93 feeds every 10 days at about one month old (Ref. 6661). Eradication of the predator Kiore has been done to conserve this bird species, to administer recovery and recolonization of seabirds (Ref. 87924). Breeds on oceanic islands. Does not typically trail ships (Ref. 91362). Feeds by surface-seizing (Ref. 356). Adult Murphy's petrels deliver food about every tenth day during chick rearing, thus they may be foraging closer to the colony during rearing that incubation (Ref. 5720).
