Intertidal (Ref. 1456) and subtidal (Ref. 19); lives in burrows (Ref. 1456) 5 to15 m below surface (Ref. 1834). Commensal with Nipponomysella subtruncata (Ref. 1834). Subtidal (Ref. 19); lives 5 to 15 m below the surface (Ref. 1834, page 429). Builds a permanent burrow in the sand, obtaining food particles by moving the finer organic materials washed into the burrow (Ref. 125338).
