Maximum Total Length: 2.5 centimeters. Girdle: Thin, black, naked; extends upward over the valves except over the narrow; beaded dorsal area. Exposed valves: Appear as streak of white paint along the top of the chiton. Suture: Each has a minute pore bearing short bristles on the girdle, but very difficult to view (Ref.281).
Epibiotic (Ref. 110502). Under rocks in the little deep infracoast (Ref. 292).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
