Assumed to be generally less than 2 cm in length (Ref. 2268). Maximum depth from Ref. 116065. A solitary ascidian (Refs. 1757, 1758) that is commonly found in mangrove areas and less commonly found in piers or pilings in harbor areas (Ref. 86424). Also found on coral reefs (Ref. 415); in a marine lake (Ref. 1661). Filter-feeder (Ref. 68823).

Members of the class Ascidiacea are hermaphroditic; both cross- and self-fertilization is typical. Life cycle: Eggs develop into lecithotrophic larva before metamorphosing into benthic adults.
