Polyps are small, shallow, and featureless; usually grey or green.
Maximum depth from Ref. 100941. Can be found in shallow waters (Ref. 122680). Has moderate bleaching level and moderate estimated mortality (10-40%) in Palau (Ref. 66144). Found encrusting rocks. Can also form massive heads. Tolerant of exposed conditions. Seldomly bored by bivalves, but more associated with polychaetes like Stylarioides spp. (Ref. 130769).

Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end (Ref. 833).
