Shell is yellowish white to cream white, often with a chestnut brown longitudinal band at the jugum and transverse white bands on central areas. Girdle is often bluish white with a thin marginal border of bright pink. Valves moderately elevated and broadly rounded.
Intertidal to subtidal. On exposed rocks covered by Sargassum. Also found on mussel beds (Ref. 128661).
