Description of life cycle and mating behavior Egg masses are composed of up to 191 egg capsules, each containing between 2,800 and 4,200 eggs. The capsules are spirally arranged and attached to hard substrates like dead bivalves, rocks and polychaete tubes. Embryos develop within the capsule and emerges as planktonic larvae.
