Definition of Term

(English) Light level modifier of deep epipelagic layer; zone where light is sufficient for photosynthesis; in oceanic waters above approximately 200 m in depth. (See also: epipelagic, pelagic, photosynthesis)
(French) Zone éclairée de la couche profonde épipélagique ; zone où la lumière est suffisante pour assurer la photosynthèse ; dans les eaux océaniques, la zone photique se situe environ entre 0 et 200 m de profondeur. (See also: epipelagic, pelagic, photosynthesis)
