Definition of Term

average population
(English) A steady-state population is a theoretical construction, never occurring in reality. It can be approximated by averaging time series data over longer periods if there are no major changes of biomass or size/age composition. (See also: population)

(French) Une population en régime permanent est une construction théorique qui ne se produire jamais dans la réalité. Il peut être rapproché en faisant la moyenne d’une série de données chronologiques sur des longues périodes s'il n'y a aucuns changements majeurs de biomasse ou de la composition par taille ou par âge.
