Definition of Term

Weber's line
(English) Hypothetical line lying approximately along the Australia-Papuan Shelf which separates the islands that have a majority of Oriental animals from those which have a majority of Australian ones, a line of faunal balance sometimes preferred to Wallace's line as the boundary between the Oriental and Australian realms.
