Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 65 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: USA, throughout the Caribbean, south to Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits Thalassia beds and sandy areas (Ref. 415, 86832), particularly muddy sand (Ref. 86832).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known to be found in Thalassia and on sand in Bocas del Toro (Ref. 415).
