Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 3380 m
Distribution:  Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic Oceans and the Mediterranean. Subtropical to polar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Vertical migrator, penetrating into the upper mesopelagic in the day and returning to the surface at night; feeds on copepods (Ref. 2376).
