Max. size:  4 cm DL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 200 - 200 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific and Atlantic Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Intertidal in oyster beds. Occurs in densities as great as 2100 square meter. Parthenogenic species whose development includes a short-lived non-feeding pelagic larval stage (Ref. 776). Subtidal in coral reef and rock reef (Ref. 1456); commonly found in soft coral, old coral, mussell beds (Ref. 1840) or on rocky bottom (Ref. 776). Associated either with oyster beds, where it lives in and among the shells, or with the encrusting fauna on sea walls, among the vermetid snails, sponges, and tunicates (Ref. 1778). Depth based on the distribution record (Ref. 1456); to be replaced with better reference.
