Distribution:  Circumglobal. from China to Canadian Arctic, south to Mar del Plata Argentina and east to Mauritius. Tropical and temperate climates.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in muddy substrates associated with organic pollutants (Ref. 96352). Forms domiciles in Halimeda spp. Filter-feeder (Ref. 87067). Feeds on organic detritus (Ref. 96352).
