Size ranges from 0.0004 cm to 0.0005 cm in diameter. It is an important source of beta carotene utilised by food and aquaculture industry (Ref. 801). It is common in high saline pools and lagoons, and forms dense blooms turning the water reddish brown in color (Ref. 801). |
